This book will focus on methods for synthesizing, characterizing and application of silver nanoparticles with shape and size control, including seven main Chapters. In Chapter 1, the literature review regarding to the silver nanoparticles is presented, in which the synthesis methods, growth mechanisms, and potential applications are briefly introduced. Chapters 2-4 will emphasize on our research work on silver nanoparticles, including silver nanoparticles and their deposited film(s) on substrates (Chapter 2), silver nanowires generated via polyol-thermal method in autoclaves and their growth mechanisms (Chapter 3), and room-temperature synthesis of silver nanoplates (triangles, discs) using two or more reducing agents synergistically in aqueous solution (Chapter 4) novel silver micro-nanostructure and its alloy(Chapter 5), and silver/gold @ SiO2 composite nanomaterials (Chapter 6). Finally, the conclusion and future work is presented in Chapter 7.
